Consistently the science you see the most in the media as a child/young adult is marine biology, astronomy, and laboratory chemists. They entice you with marine biology to get you into oceanography; they entice you with astronomy and robotics to get you into aerospace, and they entice you with the idea of making a world-saving potion to get you into chemical engineering. Aerospace, oceanography, and chemical engineering also happen to be heavily financially backed by Defense funding. The rude awakening if you continue your career in science past undergrad is that major funding sources are from the oil/chemical industry and U.S. defense department. Scientists are worn down by academics and then wielded as like weapons of war. And they are literally just someone's boyfriend.

Loved the whimsical Scientifica of Poor Things ... Bella's quest for knowledge is also so scientastic ... have you seen GDT's new Frankenstein? Feel like there are many thematic and aesthetic similarities

OMG! the katy perry costume girl was not orlando's current GF!! she ran into orlando bloom and took a pic! the current GF part is a ruse by katty kats... and a brilliant one on both ends (the innocent actress that dressed up as katy/the vicious rumors by stans...)

this is still slag behavior IMO but the katy kats do mobilize with such force and intention

Loved listening to this podcast! Funnily enough the branding of my Substack is inspired by evolutionary biology and scientific practice, without being about science.
